The Challenge: Little opportunity remained in our client’s original target market. The GM wanted to convince his Board to fund expansion into other markets—but which ones? He was busy running the company—so he called us in to do the legwork.
Straw Dogs Solution: We designed a template for analyzing candidate markets based on attributes relevant to the client’s business goals: size (opportunity); target buyers; demand/drivers; degree of penetration/competition; existing channel relationships. We used the template to derive the “final five” and developed a presentation for the GM to deliver to the Board.
